Title: The linux installer doesn't work

Hi Everybody,
 I tried to install using the linux installer from the web page. The installation goes through smoothly, but once done, I cannot start the program at all.  I saw some description of known bugs, but the explanation there is awful to be honest. Would be grateful if some one of you folks guides me through this installation.

Did you try to call WinFIG from the shell? This will show you errors about missing libraries etc.

Did you install the Qt libraries?

try this: sudo aptitude install libqtgui4

Which Linux distribution are you using? Which version of the Qt libraries do you have? It must be at least 4.5.0.
